Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks

Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks have been at the forefront of European instrumental rock for 30 years. With albums like “Morte di Seeburg” and “Solna, Texas (1992-2022)”, the band hammers that status into granite.

Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks was formed in Solna in 1992. Over the years, members have come and gone – and returned – but what has remained constant is frontman and songwriter Robert Johnson‘s unabashedly punk attitude. Puritans don’t bother; Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks always go their own way.

If you like the music from “Escape from New York”, if you get off on Ennio Morricone and enjoy junk culture with heavy doses of high-octane quality – then we think you’ll love “Morte di Seeburg“, “Solna, Texas (1992-2022)” and “Surfopiates”.

“Morte di Seeburg” was the first release with Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks on the Fanfar! label. “Morte di Seeburg” is the band’s eleventh album and the perfect soundtrack to your inner Italian 70s thriller.

For the band’s thirtieth anniversary in 2022, Fanfar! released a compilation album of the band’s own favourites – “Solna, Texas (1992-2022)” – and with the release of this, Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks have become an active band again.

In 2024, Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks plays around Sweden. In the autumn of 2023, Fanfar! also released the single “Gallret”, where Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks for the first time take on a Swedish cover – Ulf Dageby‘s classic song from the film “Ett anständigt liv” (1979).

In April 2024, the group’s thirteenth album, “Surfopiates”, will be released.
